Specialists in rare, hard-to-find film titles on DVD and video. We are movie experts in American classics and international films, genres such as noir, neo-noir, thriller, fantasy, action, cult and horror, animation, independent and documentary films.

Movie Image was established in downtown Berkeley in 1991, and we have been in the business of locating and selling films on video, laserdisc and DVD formats continuously since then.  We have a well-known reputation for our knowledge of world cinema.

We are film nuts ourselves, and established Movie Image because the majority of  retail and on-line sales and rental  movie businesses are too narrow in selection and are becoming more limited all of the time, with an emphasis on current hits and straight-to-video/DVD titles. Our purpose is to make the best of world cinema available to you.



Our method is to track down the title you are seeking, provide you with a price, and if you accept, mail your film order directly to you. In many cases, we already have the title in hand.   If you can’t remember the title, but know the director, plot and/or actors, we can help you identify it.  If the film is out of print, we will locate a good quality used copy.  Want to know about other good films by the same director, cinematographer or screenwriter?  We know them and can make recommendations.
